1. Purpose

At MUMROOT CIC, we are committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in everything we do. Our mission—to empower and support single mothers through education, mental health support, and economic development—can only be fulfilled when we embrace and celebrate the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of the people we serve and work with.

This policy outlines our commitment to ensuring that every individual who interacts with MUMROOT CIC is treated fairly, respectfully, and without discrimination.

2. Scope

  • All partners, contractors, and consultants working on behalf of MUMROOT CIC.
  • All participants and beneficiaries in our programs and community initiatives.

3. Our Commitment

MUMROOT CIC is committed to:

  • Equal Opportunities: Ensuring fair treatment and equal access to opportunities regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, or socioeconomic background.
  • Inclusive Environment: Creating an atmosphere where every team member and program participant feels respected, supported, and empowered to contribute.
  • Representation: Reflecting the diversity of our community within our leadership, staff, and volunteer base.
  • Accessibility: Ensuring our services, programs, and communications are accessible to all, including those with disabilities or language barriers.

4. Principles of Diversity and Inclusion

  1. Respect: We value every individual’s unique voice, experience, and contribution.
  2. Equity: We recognize that some individuals face barriers and commit to removing those obstacles to create equal access and opportunity.
  3. Collaboration: We work with diverse partners and communities to design programs that meet real needs.
  4. Accountability: We actively monitor our diversity performance and hold ourselves accountable for continuous improvement.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of recruitment, pay, and promotion practices to ensure fairness.
  • Maintain confidential reporting channels for discrimination, harassment, or inequality concerns.
  • Embed DEI principles into all project designs, community engagements, and partnerships.

6. Monitoring and Reporting

MUMROOT CIC will regularly assess the effectiveness of this policy by:

  • Collecting demographic and feedback data (where appropriate and lawful).
